Qualifying for Membership

Not yet qualified to join the OCC? We operate 2 schemes to help you qualify. The Youth Sponsorship Programme enables young people between the age of 18 and 25 to gain experience as a crew member on a long distance sailing passage whilst the Mentoring Scheme is open to existing Associate members wanting to progress to Full membership.

Harry Anderson undertook an unusual singlehanded voyage to all seven continents, emulating his previous feat of flying solo to all seven continents. He completed the voyage in 2.5 years, but still managed to stop at many of the places that more commonly take cruising circumnavigators two or more times that period.
