Pete Morley refitted his Tom Thumb 24, Maid of Mettle and set off with two friends on a two-year voyage which took them as far as the Canaries. It was Pete’s singlehanded voyage home to the UK that prompted his nomination. His low average speed did nothing to dampen his spirits, and his blog makes for interesting reading as on occasions things did get a bit boisterous.
