The plan is to enjoy sailing our Hunter Channel 31 in the BVI for several weeks in Jan/Feb 09 before taking her back down the Caribbean Chain to Aruba in March/April. The intention then is to leave her in Aruba until Jan.2010 ready to fit her out for the trip through the Panama Canal to the Galapagos in early spring before making the passage to the Marquesas and onto Tonga to arrive about Oct. ready for the passage to New Zealand.
We are looking for, competent crew, especially for the Galapagos Marquesas leg, but would very much welcome compatible crew to be fully part of the whole voyage.
Our traditional way of working is for everyone to make equal contributions to a provisions, and day to day expenses kitty, and air fares to be the responsibility of the individual. We have very good confidence in Whimbrel II´s seaworthiness but 31ft is relatively small so an element of roughing it will be required.
We are looking for crew/companions now so that the in depth scheduling, planning, background research, etc can be done together so that the very most can be made of what we hope will be yet another very special adventure.
